We are looking for an exceptional LVN to assist with Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Nursing responsibilities at our detox centers in Orange County! We help our patients through this transformation by providing all the knowledge, life skills, and resources to get sober. This is an on-site, full-time position (shifts are 4 x 10hr) for a passionate and skilled Detox Nurse (LVN or RN required) who feels confident and has experience working in residential detox settings providing psychiatric medication monitoring for our patients! Experience using Kipu preferred. This facility is a 2 story, 18 bed, residential detox in Laguna Niguel. Applicants must live within 17 mi. of Laguna Niguel for consideration. Position Overview The LVN, works closely with each client, in collaboration with the Clinical Director and Medical Director, providing care and professional judgement within scope of practice, demonstrating skills in the areas of psychiatric and detox medication observation, medical appointment scheduling, documentation and overall client health, in a residential detox care facility that serves clients recovering from co-occurring disorders and who are withdrawing from alcohol and other addictive substances. Roles and Responsibilities Compliant with all state of California rules and regulations concerning standards of care. Works with Medical /Clinical Team to oversee detoxification services. Strictly enforce and support person served rights and confidentiality of information as required by HIPAA. Provide assistance to all persons served in medication offered and observed. Provide clients with education regarding medication and answer all questions regarding medications prescribed. Promote and maintain good communication and cooperative working relationships with staff, family members, and related treatment team persons. Demonstrate consistent and comprehensive knowledge of skills required to perform job duties and responsibilities. Consistently documents any display unusual and usual client behaviors and communicates to supervising staff promptly. Responsible for all new admission nursing assessments, coordinates medical appointments and client TB tests Daily Observation of detoxification clients, timely documentation, 30 minute wellness checks, audit functions, and record keeping of all observed/inventoried/destroyed/prescribed medications Preforms thorough regular face to face assessment of patients with addiction and mental health conditions every 30 minutes to as needed Assists in ascertaining clinical medication management with Medical Team daily Observation, documentation, and record keeping of client health status (Preforms detox rounds). Responsible for organizing and coordination of medication management including refilling of appropriate medications as well as d/c of medications. Responsible for documentation nursing progress notes, MAR's, including communicating to staff by phone and/or email. Documentation of BAC, vital signs, COWS, CIWAS, behavior changes, medication responses and illness. Works closely with Clinical Team on all client health matters Manages complete Medication Records and documents in system. Pick up medications/ other medical supplies/ interact with medical director Work closely with Medical Team to provide education and counseling for clients and other organizational health care providers on optimal use of medicines (e.g., proper use, avoidance of over medication) Analyze and record Urine Analysis results. Assures the prompt coordination of transportation of person served to appointments made by nursing such as urgent care, hospital and all appropriate documentation is accompanying the person served. Follow daily shift responsibilities as designed by New Leaf Detox and Treatment. Assist and monitors the maintenance and cleanliness of the nursing center office. Crisis intervention and/or initiation of emergency protocol if needed, including CPR and calling 911. Support and implement New Leaf Detox and Treatment philosophy with reference to all program components and person served personal dignity. Implement IMS duties as assigned by Medical Director and document Following all detox and withdrawal medical protocols set in place by the Medical Team Coordination of MAT services Experience in Kipu EMR documentation is a huge plus! Arrange any outside medical referrals for clients as needed And, other duties as assigned.
