Electrophysiology Advanced Pratitioner Cardiovascular Associates of Marin & SF Larkspur, CA Job Details Full-time From $210,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Profit sharing Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Employee assistance program Retirement plan Qualifications Hospital medicine ACLS Certification Outpatient Advanced practice provider Emergency medicine Aseptic technique Medical imaging Interventional cardiology Full Job Description Job Summary The Electrophysiology (EP) Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) works collaboratively with electrophysiologists and the cardiovascular care team to provide comprehensive care for patients with cardiac arrhythmias and implanted cardiac devices. Responsibilities include inpatient and/or outpatient evaluation and management, procedural support, device management, patient education, and coordination of care. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and physical examinations related to electrophysiology procedures. Assist in and perform complex electrophysiology procedures such as cardiac catheterization, device implantation, and ablation therapies with precision and adherence to sterile techniques. Manage pre- and post-procedure care, including medication administration, IV infusion management, and monitoring for complications. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic to document clinical findings accurately and efficiently. Collaborate with cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans focusing on arrhythmia management and device therapy. Educate patients on their conditions, procedural expectations, medication protocols including botulinum toxin treatments where applicable, and lifestyle modifications for optimal health outcomes. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards while ensuring patient safety during all procedures. Support clinical research initiatives related to electrophysiology innovations or new treatment modalities. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of cardiology experience as an Advanced Practice Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS - Required Valid advanced practice provider license with certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in cardiology or electrophysiology. Demonstrated experience in critical care settings such as ICU, emergency medicine, or hospital medicine with exposure to acute pain management, triage, or trauma center environments preferred. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; experience with medical imaging and laboratory data interpretation is advantageous. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, diagnostic evaluation techniques including sonography and cardiac catheterization procedures. Familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes; understanding of
ICD-10/ICD-9
coding standards is beneficial. Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics (pediatric care), geriatrics (geriatrics), memory care or assisted living settings preferred. Excellent patient assessment skills combined with the ability to educate patients about complex conditions such as atrial fibrillation or ventricular arrhythmias. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams across outpatient clinics or inpatient units while maintaining high standards of infection control and sterile processing practices.
