Job Description

Job Summary:

Performs nursing activities that have been documented as learned in the nursing program; may assist with medication administration upon completion of the pediatric theory and clinical course work, and successful completion of the Valley Children's medication examination.

Qualifications:

Education High School Diploma/G.E.D. (required) Current enrollment with completion of at least two semesters/or equivalent in an accredited RN Program. (required) Must submit transcripts showing proof of second semester completion Must be continuously enrolled, throughout the duration of employment, in an approved Work Study course at an affiliated institution (Fresno City College, CSU Fresno, Lemoore College, College of the Sequoias, SJVC, Merced College, or CSU Stanislaus). Licenses and Certifications BLS

  • Basic Life Support
  • AHA•American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required) Skills and Abilities Advancement to PNE II is based on completion of the pediatric theory and clinical course work and successful completion of the Valley Children's Hospital medication examination.

Additional Position Details Must be able to complete the full, weeklong new hire/clinical orientation. Orientations are typically offered for Pediatric Nurse Externs during school breaks in December and January To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
