Pediatrics Full Job Description Description:

Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE RN)—Per Diem Contra Costa Regional Medical Center is seeking a Per Diem Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE RN) to provide specialized forensic and trauma-informed care to survivors of sexual assault and violence.

Compensation:

Forensic Exam:

$650 per exam;

Administrative Time:

$90/hour; On Call $30 per hour Live within Contra Costa or within 1 hour of CCRMC (willing to move/travel) Train in adults and pediatrics Experience or have received the state training in acute sexual assault forensic exams Must have SANE-A (Adult) SANE-P (Pediatric) certification issued by

CALSAFE or IAFN Conducting Forensic Examinations:

SANEs perform comprehensive medical and forensic examinations of sexual assault victims, including collecting evidence like DNA samples, swabs, and photographs.

Providing Medical Care:

They assess and treat injuries resulting from sexual assault, providing necessary medical interventions and follow-up care.

Offering Support and Resources:

SANEs offer emotional support, guidance, and resources to survivors, helping them navigate the aftermath of the assault and connect with relevant services.

Legal Advocacy:

They may serve as expert witnesses in legal proceedings, providing testimony about the medical findings and the nature of the assault.

Collaboration and Communication:

SANEs work closely with law enforcement, attorneys, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive response to sexual assault cases.

Documentation and Chain of Custody:

SANEs meticulously document all aspects of the examination and evidence collection, ensuring the integrity of the evidence and adhering to legal protocols.

On-Call Responsibilities:

SANE nurses often have on-call responsibilities, meaning they may be required to respond to sexual assault cases outside of regular working hours.

Community Outreach and Education:

SANEs may participate in community outreach and education programs to raise awareness about sexual assault and promote prevention efforts.
