1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with strong neuro and Level II trauma experience for a night shift assignment at a Magnet-designated acute care hospital. Details ICU unit with 12 overflow beds at a Level 2 Trauma, Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center Patient population includes cardiovascular, multi-trauma, gunshot wounds, stroke, STEMI, motor vehicle accidents, and orthopedic cases High acuity neuro population with CABG/Valve/IABP, CRRT, sepsis, and surgical patients Patient ratio of 1:2 Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-7:00 No weekend requirement No on-call requirement Floating required between PCU and ICU overflow units, as well as sister facilities within the state Epic EMR used Requirements Active CA RN license required, compact license must be in hand at submission BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and LA City Fire Card certifications required Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required Level II Trauma experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred Community hospital experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Epic charting experience preferred Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, and port access/management Respiratory skills required including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning Cardiovascular skills required including IABP, sheath removal, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, and pre/post cardiac cath care Neurological skills required including CVA/acute stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, and post-craniotomy/neurosurgery care Medication management skills required including titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and emergency medications Cardiac monitoring skills required including dysrhythmia interpretation/management and 12-lead EKG acquisition Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required Full SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information Magnet-designated acute care hospital with 377 staffed beds Free parking available on-site Scrubs of any color permitted; L&D and OR scrubs provided Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application; post-offer requests may not be accommodated First-time travelers will not be considered for this role Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a lower bill rate Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility Candidates must disclose any prior work history at Providence facilities, including permanent, travel, or per-diem rolesBenefits
