0 Newport Beach, CA Job Details Full-time 1 hour ago Qualifications RN License Acute care facility experience Bachelor's degree Full Job Description Primary Duties and Responsibilities The Patient Safety Lead RN is responsible for leading patient safety programs and regulatory initiatives to improve patient outcomes through implementation and evaluation of process improvements. Responsible for facilitating multidisciplinary team meetings, collating data, presenting findings, and independently carrying out other projects as assigned. Works in collaboration with the Chief Patient Safety Officer, Chief Quality Officer, and Sr. Principal of Regulatory Compliance and Facilities on the following key functions: Performs and manages systemwide investigational reviews to determine if event meets the criteria of an adverse event or California Department of Public Health's (CDPH) definition of a Never Event Facilitates the formation and ongoing progress of interdisciplinary event analysis using appropriate tool such as Root Cause Analysis (RCAs), Case Reviews, and Risk Analysis. Responds to regulatory visits, coordinates investigation needs Facilitates preparatory activities for regulatory agencies and assists departments in identifying and correcting regulatory compliance issues. Uses independent clinical judgment to respond to investigations and quality of care concerns presented by surveyors or regulatory agencies and insurance carriers. Utilizes knowledge of clinical settings, regulatory standards, professional organizations, and best practices to lead and/or support performance improvement initiatives. Applies data and statistical analysis to drive patient outcomes Promotes patient safety principles through dissemination of education and shared learnings. Works collaboratively with leadership and staff to identify possible or actual risk to patients and to ensure continuous patient safety improvement. Serves as a subject matter expert on state and federal healthcare regulations and accreditation, quality, patient safety, performance improvement processes and methodologies Knowledgeable on applicable title 22, DNV, and CMS regulations around patient safety and regulatory compliance in acute care setting. Supports organizational and department goals and priorities
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree required Minimum three years' experience in an acute care hospital setting
Preferred:
Minimum five years' experience in an adult care hospital setting MSN preferred License Required Current CA license to practice as a Registered Nurse License Preferred N/A Certifications Required N/A Certifications Preferred CPHQ certification CPPS certification
