Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the upcoming school year by supporting student health and well-being in a dynamic educational environment. This contract opportunity places a Registered Nurse alongside two experienced LVNs, traveling to elementary campuses throughout the district to assist with direct student care and essential health management. Your role will involve managing health needs—including those of diabetic students—and keeping accurate incident reports to ensure the highest standard of care across multiple school sites. The ideal candidate can reliably travel between schools during the workday and is comfortable working independently and as part of a small, supportive nursing team.
Key Qualifications:
Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with California credentials Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred Skilled in responding to student health incidents and maintaining detailed documentation Confident collaborating with LVNs and educational staff Reliable transportation for inter-site travel (mileage reimbursed at IRS rates) Strong organizational and time management abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist with daily health care needs of elementary students at various school locations Work closely with two LVNs to provide comprehensive nursing support Complete and manage student incident reports accurately and promptly Administer care to diabetic and medically fragile students following prescribed plans Follow a set schedule of site visits, ensuring each campus is regularly supported This assignment begins on August 31 or September 1 and will run through December, with the strong possibility of extending through the end of the school year in May.
