RESPONSIBILITIES

• Will work under the guidance of the Nursing Director to provide perioperative nursing care in an Ambulatory Surgery Center setting assisting in excisions with reconstructions of cancerous/ non-cancerous lesions and MOHS closures.
• Pre Operative (in take)- v Pre Op assessments (review of Medical History), administer medications as needed, and obtaining consents. v Assist in patient education and rehabilitation for promotion of patient physical and mental health.
• Circulator- v set up and monitor of vitals throughout surgery, assist in positioning patient, administration of local anesthesia, documentation of surgery, retrieve supplies/instruments as needed by surgical team, and receive/process specimens.
• Direct and assist other staff nurses in a teamwork environment in the direction of nursing care and according to physician's orders; ensure nursing care plans are in conformity with recognized safety protocols, established practice standards and policies.
• Assign, supervise, and evaluate personnel giving patient care, according to their responsibilities, educational and professional background, and according to the needs of the patients. Teach nursing personnel (on the job) in the skills and art of nursing.
• Cooperate and share responsibilities for the improvement of patient care with other staff nurses, medical staff, and other Center personnel.
• Report to Medical Staff and Nursing Supervisor changes in patients' condition according to professional assessment.
• Maintain problem-solving oriented assessment of issues and records, showing effect of medication and treatment; plan, action, and result of action.
• Communicate with the patients' family in preparing nursing care plans for effective execution of these plans.
• The job functions that require the use of disclosure of protected health information.

If non-routine protected healthy information becomes necessary the Privacy Officer will have to approve the access.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current RN license
• Current ACLS and/or BLS certification required
• Demonstration of professional knowledge and responsibility through references from past education and/or job experience; Minimum 1 year Nursing experience.
• No previous dermatology/surgery experience required; training available according to applicant needs and experience.

SCHEDULE

• Per-Diem nurse
• Intermittent Tuesdays. On call intermittent Wednesdays and Thursdays
• Shifts may vary, up to 8 hours

Pay:

$40.00 - $45.00 per hour
