Job Description

Job Description We are a growing startup staffing agency that partners with outpatient surgery centers and ambulatory surgery centers to Monterey Park and Victorville. Our client facilities specialize in vascular and interventional procedures, including lower extremity angiograms, embolizations, and fistulagrams. Patients are treated under moderate (conscious) sedation, and we are seeking experienced healthcare professionals who are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The Pre-op / PACU RN will have the flexibility to manage their own schedule. Available assignments will be posted through Connecteam as a first come, first serve basis. To remain an active member of our team, you are required to work at least one shift per month. This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not an employee role. The nurse will work with a high degree of professional independence and manage their own availability. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and benefits. Contractors are subject to credentialing review and background screening as a condition of engagement. Job Duties
  • Prepare patients for surgery by conducting thorough assessments and ensuring all necessary documentation is complete
  • Administer medications, including pain management therapies such as opioids and non-opioid options, ensuring proper dosage and documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards
  • Manage airway patency for patients requiring respiratory assistance, utilizing aseptic techniques and advanced airway management skills
  • Conduct post-operative assessments, provide care instructions, and address any patient concerns
  • Knowledge and experience with administering IV and IM drugs and their possible adverse reactions
  • Interpretation of cardiac arrhythmias
  • Collaborate with surgical team to coordinate patient care plans during post-operative recovery stages
  • Educate patient and families on post-discharge care instructions, including medication administration, wound care, and activity restrictions Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
  • Active RN license in the state of California
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • Proven experience in pre-op and PACU settings; ER experience highly valued
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
Pay:
$55.00 - $65.00 per hour

Flexible schedule Application Question(s): Do you have experience monitoring patients during recovery from moderate sedation and can recognize and respond to post-procedure complications? This position requires working independently as the only pre/post RN with a brief facility orientation and minimal supervision. Are you comfortable with this? This position requires starting IVs on all patients. Are you confident and proficient in independently starting peripheral IVs?
