About the Facility Since its inception in 1905, this hospital has served the Sacramento, California area community with outstanding, attentive health care. It is a member of the Mercy hospitals of Dignity Health. In 2007, the healthcare foundation it is a part of received the Diabetes Physician Recognition from the American Diabetes Association and the Joint Commission. The Joint Commission has also approved it as a Primary Stroke Center and it has been rated as a Baby Friendly Hospital by the World Health Organization and the United Nation's Children's Fund.
