A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

RN-Infusion Job Description:
Leads the planning of care and implementation of the nursing process. Plans unit scheduling, workflow, assignments, reviews work for accuracy. Administer IV fluids via peripherally inserted central catheters. Provides staff training and assistance as necessary. Participates in Performance Improvement program and participates in collection of data and implementation of improvement plans. Participates in inter-disciplinary meetings and committees to promote and ensure adjustment and continuity of patient care as assigned/requested. May make recommendations on policies and standards. May prepare reports.
Qualifications and Job Info:
Graduate of accredited school of registered nursing; BSN/MSN preferred. Current state RN license. Current BLS certification required. Minimum one-two years of direct patient care experience in infusion nursing. Demonstrated ability to exhibit a high degree of professionalism and competence in their field.
