WCS Healthcare is currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for Correctional Healthcare assignments within the Connecticut Department of Correction. We are seeking nurses with strong clinical assessment skills and addiction treatment experience to provide care within a secure healthcare environment.

Assignment Details Locations:

Chesire, CT Days & Evening Shifts Available (8 Hour Shifts) 40 hours per week Every other weekend required 6 RN Openings Total 3 Registered Nurses for 1st Shift 3 Registered Nurses for 2nd Shift Please indicate your shift preference when applying. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing clinical evaluations. Conduct detoxification assessments and implement detox protocols. Monitor and assess patients experiencing alcohol and substance withdrawal symptoms. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols. Assist with and monitor treatment plans involving Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD). Provide nursing care for acute and chronic medical conditions. Recognize and respond to medical emergencies and changes in patient condition. Accurately document patient care, assessments, and treatment outcomes. Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health professionals, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Qualifications Active Connecticut RN License required. Addiction treatment experience preferred.

Experience with:

Patient assessments Detox assessments and detoxification protocols Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) Alcohol withdrawal monitoring and assessment Current BLS Certification required. Prior correctional, behavioral health, emergency department, detox, substance use treatment, or acute care experience is highly preferred.
