Job Description

WCS Healthcare is currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Correctional Healthcare opportunity in Niantic, CT. This role is ideal for a nurse with substance use treatment experience who is passionate about providing high-quality care to individuals with addiction and behavioral health needs.

Full-Time Hours:
5:00 AM - 12:00 PM 5 shifts per week Potential Tuesday through Saturday schedule Immediate opening Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing clinical evaluations. Conduct detoxification assessments and implement detox protocols as appropriate. Monitor and assess patients experiencing alcohol and substance withdrawal symptoms. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols. Assist with and monitor treatment plans involving Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD). Recognize and respond to medical emergencies and changes in patient condition. Accurately document patient care, assessments, and treatment outcomes. Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health professionals, and multidisciplinary care teams. Qualifications Active Connecticut RN License required. Previous nursing experience required. Addiction treatment experience strongly preferred.
Experience with:
Patient assessments Detox assessments and detoxification protocols Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) Alcohol withdrawal monitoring and assessment BLS Certification required.
