Central Connecticut Description:
Consulting Cardiologists, the largest cardiology practice in Connecticut is looking for an experienced cardiac nurse to join our team. Coverage of offices in Avon, Glastonbury, Hartford, West Hartford, Cheshire or Wallingford, Connecticut.
Job Summary:
Perform treadmill nuclear stress tests, pharmacologic nuclear stress tests, standard treadmill stress tests, stress-echocardiograms, BP checks, injectable medication training, post-procedural wound checks, EKG's. Educate/inform patients regarding testing instructions, results, scheduled hospital procedures. IV experience required. Administer IV fluids and medications as needed. Perform and process in-office blood draws. Assist with cardiac clearance. Provide lab results and answer patient questions. Cover MD's messages and results buckets when in hospital or on vacation. Contact patients to discuss the process of direct admission to the hospital; ensure that prior authorization is completed by auth department. Contact hospital bed manager for office-to-ER admission. Provide report to EMS for patients requiring ambulance transportation from the office.
Telephone Triage:
Take live patient calls most days. Respond to triages from patient portal or Medical Assistant calls. Research Epic/Athena EMR systems for information pertinent to the case. Follow up/follow through from start of call to resolution. Handle walk-in's and Cardiac Rehab triages as needed. Schedule patients as needed for all appointment types. Other specialties handled in office Coumadin management CHF Cardiac Catheterizations Vascular procedures Electrophysiology Cardiac Amyloidosis Pacemaker monitoring Implantable devices Kardia Mobile Cardioversions Heart Transplant Qualifications Current Connecticut RN License in good standing Graduate of an accredited nursing school BLS and ACLS certification by the American Heart Association Ability to start IV's and perform blood draws as needed Strong cardiology background Excellent communication skills Strong work ethic Mature, independent self-starter Accurate and timely completion of all necessary documentation Delegate duties and tasks to team members appropriately Mentor and encourage team members to promote growth
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
Must be a licensed State of Connecticut Registered Nurse in good standing, be proficient in cardiac monitoring and be certified in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three years of cardiac/telemetry/cardiovascular RN experience preferred
Pay:
$44.00•$47.00 per hour
