Job Title:
Registered Nurse - Urology Clinic Job Description This role provides compassionate and efficient nursing support in a busy urology clinic by coordinating patient scheduling, managing phone inquiries, assisting with insurance verifications, and supporting clinical workflows within an electronic health record system. Responsibilities Schedule patients accurately and efficiently to support smooth clinic operations. Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally, providing clear information and assistance to patients and other callers. Assist with insurance verifications to ensure patient coverage and reduce delays in care. Triage calls by assessing patient needs, prioritizing urgency, and directing patients to appropriate care or follow-up. Document patient information and interactions in the electronic health record system in a timely and accurate manner. Collaborate with providers and clinic staff to support urology patient care and ensure a positive patient experience. Follow established clinic protocols and procedures to maintain quality and safety standards. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all applicable regulations and best practices in clinical documentation. Essential Skills Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Connecticut. Experience working with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Ability to schedule patients and manage appointment workflows. Strong telephone communication skills, including answering and managing multiple calls. Ability to assist with insurance verification processes. Skill in triaging patient calls and determining appropriate level of care or follow-up. Comfort working in a medical and urology clinic environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience using Epic electronic health record software. Prior experience in urology or a urology clinic setting. Previous experience in a busy outpatient or specialty clinic environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary clinical team. Work Environment The role is based in a fairly busy urology clinic setting. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, with schedules that may follow either a standard 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. workday or four 10-hour days each week. The environment involves frequent patient interaction, regular use of electronic health record systems such as Epic, and coordination with clinical and administrative staff to support a steady flow of appointments and phone calls. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
