This contract position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced RN to support student health, collaborate with educators and families, and contribute to a safe, healthy learning atmosphere.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Current RN license valid in Connecticut Prior experience in a school setting, or interest in pediatric or community nursing Strong assessment and critical thinking skills Excellent communication with students, staff, and families Familiarity with managing chronic and acute health conditions Ability to maintain accurate and confidential health records CPR/BLS certification required
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct nursing care for illnesses, injuries, and chronic health conditions to students throughout the school day Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following specific care plans Conduct health screenings and immunization record reviews Respond to emergency situations and coordinate care with local healthcare providers as needed Participate in the development and implementation of individualized health plans (IEPs/504s) Educate students and staff on health topics, prevention, and safety measures Maintain proper documentation in compliance with school district and state guidelines This is a rewarding chance to provide essential medical support to students while working in an educational community.
