A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

REGISTERED NURSE
- Substitute The successful candidate will: Promote 21st Century educational excellence through the vigorous support of the mission and goals of The Woodstock Academy; and Facilitate individual, departmental, and school excellence through the support of high quality personnel, reinforcement of best instructional practices, encouragement of a culture of collaboration, and a focus on student learning.
Minimum Qualifications:
Registered Nurse, current CT license; CPR/AED/First Aid Certified; Equivalent of at least 1 year fulltime employment as an RN within the past five years; School Nurse experience preferred; Educational experience to include 12 college credits, 18 CEUS, or 180 workshop hours in health related areas, i.e. health assessment, growth and development, sociology, adolescent psychology or other health related areas; Demonstrated office management skills, organizational skills, and multi-tasking skills essential; Experience with electronic medical records and Microsoft office; and Flexibility to work days, weekends, and evening shifts for South Campus health office
