School District is seeking experienced and caring candidates with strong interpersonal skills to join our high school team. As a school nurse substitute you will carry out a variety of activities outlined below.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
School Nursing Provide assistance to students requiring medical or health services information. Contact parents regarding health information or medical referrals. Provide first aid procedures according to school policy. Maintain confidentiality and protect students' personal and medical information. Maintain appropriate records, including student emergency cards, daily interactions and accident reports. Other duties as assigned.Essential Qualifications:
Education:
Diploma, Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Registered Nurse program of studyLicensure and Certification:
Must hold a current Delaware Registered Nurse License Proof of current CPR certification requiredPreferred Experience:
Three years' nursing experience Experience interacting with high school students ( preferred ) Essenitial Knowledge, Skills, & Behaviors Use eSchoolPLUS (pupil accounting software) to access and enter student information. Carry out school nursing program requirements based on federal and state laws and regulations and district objectives. Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, staff, and administrators. Write, speak, and interact clearly and professionally. Analyze data to inform and identify students' needs. Read, analyze and interpret professional literature and federal and state guidance documents. Effectively present information and respond to questions from students, parents, staff and administrators. Perform effectively in environments with competing demands. Proficient use of technology including Microsoft Office applications and educational software.Terms of Employment:
This is a flexible substitute nurse position. This position reports to the school nurse on duty with support from the building principal. Successful completion of Criminal Background Check, TB Test, and Child Protection Registry Clearance must be completed prior to start of employment. Salary will be calculated in accordance with district's substitute school nurse scale. Direct deposit of payroll checks is mandatory and employees are paid on a lag pay schedule with the first payment made after approximately one month of employment.Application Requirements:
