Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. Job Summary The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN/ARNP) provides comprehensive, patient-centered primary and urgent care services to patients of all ages. Working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff, the APRN evaluates, diagnoses, treats, and manages both acute and chronic medical conditions while promoting preventive healthcare and wellness. The APRN delivers high-quality, evidence-based care in a fast-paced outpatient environment and ensures continuity of care through patient education, follow-up, and appropriate referrals. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrimary Care Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including obtaining medical histories and conducting physical examinations. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions across the lifespan. Develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based clinical guidelines. Order, perform, and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and imaging as appropriate. Prescribe medications and other therapeutic interventions in accordance with state regulations and clinic policies. Provide preventive healthcare services, including annual wellness exams, health screenings, immunizations, and routine physical examinations. Manage chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma, COPD, hyperlipidemia, thyroid disorders, and other common conditions. Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust care plans as needed. Educate patients and families regarding disease prevention, treatment options, medication management, nutrition, exercise, and healthy lifestyle practices. Documentation and Compliance Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic medical records (EMR). Document patient encounters in compliance with regulatory, legal, and payer requirements. Complete medical forms, disability paperwork, and other required documentation. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CMS, and state regulatory requirements. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance metrics. QualificationsEducation Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program. Licensure Current unrestricted
