A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. Job Description

WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a home care registered nurse (RN), you will ensure hospice patients are comfortable during their end-of-life journeys and forge compassionate, meaningful connections with the people in their lives.
You will:
Provide comfort-focused in-home nursing care for patients with prognoses of six months or less Work on a team of interdisciplinary hospice clinicians, including LPNs, aides, chaplains, social workers and physicians Serve as an advocate for each patient and family in your care, ensuring their goals of care are communicated and prioritized by each member of the care team Deliver basic hospice education and training to patients, families and caregivers Working alongside your team, you will give your best each day in service of our core commitment: Delivering compassionate, personalized care with heartfelt empathy, honoring the wishes of each patient who entrusts VITAS with their end-of-life journey.
WHERE YOU'LL WORK
You will spend most of your time caring for hospice patients wherever they call home, whether that means a private residence or an assisted living/skilled nursing facility. You will typically make 4-6 visits each day. Once a week, you'll visit the local program office to meet with an interdisciplinary team, including social workers, physicians, chaplains, and aides, who collaborate to provide holistic support for the patients and families we serve.
REQUIREMENTS
Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing A valid RN license At least one year of hospital nursing experience Reliable transportation
