Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Interventional Radiology Nurse (RN) to join our team on a PRN (as-needed) basis . This role provides safe, high-quality patient care in the pre-operative, procedure, and recovery areas . The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating patient care from admission through discharge while ensuring compliance with clinical standards and patient safety protocols. Key Responsibilities Assess patient status upon admission to the pre-op area, procedure suite, and recovery area, and monitor patients throughout the care process Deliver safe, therapeutic nursing care using the nursing process and nursing diagnosis Coordinate nursing interventions to support patient outcomes and ensure readiness for discharge Document patient care, interventions, and responses accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Carry out physician orders promptly and accurately while documenting all activities Provide patient and family education, assessing learning needs and readiness to learn Maintain patient safety during procedures, including protecting patients from hazards and maintaining privacy and comfort Assist with pre-operative and post-operative phone calls and communicate concerns to appropriate staff Maintain competencies in conscious sedation administration and monitoring, including airway protection and patient assessment Ensure compliance with aseptic technique, sterile procedures, and universal precautions Identify and manage potential safety risks in the procedure suite Additional Responsibilities Maintain strong organizational skills and prioritize work to meet facility needs Support compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements Adhere to all policies including confidentiality, infection control, OSHA safety standards, and attendance policies Serve as a role model and mentor to other staff when appropriate Participate in quality improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost savings Assist with orientation and training of nursing and ancillary staff when requested Demonstrate the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations Qualifications Education & Licensure Current Registered Nurse (RN) license - State of Florida CPR certification required ACLS and PALS certification preferred Experience Minimum 2 years of pre-op and post-op nursing experience Experience in OBL, ASC, or hospital operating room setting preferred Skills Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions Familiarity with EMR systems and medical equipment Ability to maintain quality assurance standards Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and reach for extended periods Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 50 pounds Ability to assist patients with mobility when needed Visual and hearing acuity sufficient for clinical duties Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids
