  • interested in upcoming opportunities with a leading Florida health system for the 2026-2027 season. These assignments are expected to offer: + Competitive weekly pay package + 13-week contracts with potential seasonal extensions + Day and night shift availability + Traveler-friendly facilities + Sunny Southwest Florida locations
  • Position Overview
  • As a Travel PCU RN, you'll provide care for adult and geriatric patients in a progressive care setting while working alongside a supportive clinical team.
  • Patient Ratios:
  • 4-6:1, depending on patient acuity and mix
  • Required Flexibility:
  • Travelers are expected to float as needed. This position may require floating within the hospital and to affiliated sister campuses (all within 25 min)
  • Requirements
  • Experience
  • + Minimum of
  • 2 years of recent PCU experience
  • + Previous travel experience preferred but not required + Experience floating between units and facilities is a plus
  • Certifications
  • All certifications must be current and issued through
  • AHA•: + BLS + ACLS + NIHSS •Additional Requirements•+ Current RN license and full Nursys report + Skills checklist + Complete resume with: + Full work history + No unexplained gaps + Detailed specialty experience + Float experience (travel and/or permanent staff) + Nursing degree from an accredited program OR 5+ years of acute care experience in the specialty •Important Travel Eligibility Requirements•To qualify as a traveler, candidates must: + Maintain a permanent residence •50+ miles from the facility•+ •Not own property in Lee County, Florida•If a winter assignment in Florida sounds appealing, we'd love to add you to our network and discuss upcoming opportunities.
  • The Progressive Care Unit RN, assumes the responsibility and accountability for delivering patient care to telemetry/progressive care patients.

The Progressive Care Unit RN demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner with supervision. This individual employs critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care, consistently performs according to nursing standards, and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care. The Progressive Care Unit RN is sometimes also called a step-down nurse, cardiac stepdown, neuro stepdown, surgical stepdown and in some medical centers, the PCU is also known as a transition or intermediate unit.

  • Minimum Requirements:
