Job Description
This ad is for Hospice in Lakeland, FL (Polk, Hardee and Highlands counties)
Rate:
$26hr Arbor Medical Staffing is seeking to hire LPN or RNs that have prior palliative care, home health and/or hospice experience. Able to cope with emotional stress and be tolerant of individual lifestyles. Provides care with a focus on patient comfort and, pain and symptom management. Must be sensitive to the terminally ill patients and families and one's own feelings about dying and death. Administers and manages patients' medications following doctor's orders and policy and procedures. Educate the family and patient. Assist patients, family members or other clients with concern and empathy; respects confidentially and privacy and communicates in a courteous and respectful manner. Provide care in patient homes, skilled nursing facilities, and other residential type settings. Reliable transportation is required, proof of automobile insurance upon hire. Overtime Available Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse reports should provide professional, competency-based, optimal quality care as a member of a team of healthcare providers, consistent with standards of practice. The Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse reports directly to the Nurse supervisor or Physician.EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of an accredited RN/LPN program, with a current license or endorsement of the state of practice and a currentBLS/ACLS
(ACLS for specialty units only).PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
One year skilled nursing experience within the last 2 years. Specialty nurses must have an additional year of experience in the area of specialty.SCOPE OF NURSING SERVICES
1. Preforms thorough initial and ongoing Patient Assessments 2. Completes and updates patient care plans and initiates the nursing care needs including education and emotional support of the patient and family or significant other. 3. Reports appropriate patient findings and needs to the physician, charge nurse, and ancillary department 4. Administers prescribed and emergency medications and treatments in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the healthcare facility under the direction of the physician and under the supervision of the RN supervisor. 5. Documents patient needs, care rendered, and follow-through of physicians orders and outcomes in accordance with the charting system of the healthcare facility. 6. Maintains a calm, safe environment and follows universal precautions and exposure control plans for blood borne pathogens. 7. Ensures patient confidentiality and the rights of the patient. 8. Adheres to the dress code of the healthcare facility. 9. Conducts oneself professionally at all times. 10. Maintains and updates skills as needed for competency-based care and evaluation.Pay:
