is currently recruiting a Nurse Supervisor for our Beaches Office offering a
GENEROUS SIGN-ON BONUS
. The Nurse Supervisor provides professional nursing care of patients; plans and oversees departmental nursing staff, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to policies, standards, regulations and practices. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: Plans, organizes and oversees nursing staff to provide patient care; evaluates care and ensures patient satisfaction. Oversees the daily staffing requirements, orients clinical staff to their job responsibilities and provides leadership in clinical problem solving. Oversee and coordinate efficient and appropriate patient flow in and out of the infusion room Interact with and maintain effective relationships with other departments and supervisors Mixes and administers chemotherapy, biotherapy, hydration, hematopoietic growth factors and other medications under the direction and supervision of a physician. Follows standard policies and procedures to carry out medical orders. Assess patient and family learning needs, physical and mental abilities, and readiness to learn. Provides teaching and other instructional material. Demonstrates awareness of community resources available to patients and assists with referrals if necessary Monitors, analyzes, and communicates laboratory data, imaging, and other test for determination of changes in patients status. Communicates all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician. Performs assessment of patients in the areas of biophysical needs, psychosocial needs, performance status score, self-care needs, educational, spiritual and emotional needs. Demonstrates competency in the performance of simple and complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as venipunctures, care of vascular devices and dressing changes. Demonstrates competency in telephone triage, including the ability to assess the problem and plan the appropriate patient intervention. Completes QCL s in a timely manner. Documents nursing assessments, patient teaching and fluid and medication administration in the patient chart. Adheres to safety and quality control measures such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration, infections control, and sterilization criteria. Writes and delivers annual performance evaluations Maintains patient confidentiality Additional duties as assigned
Additional Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrates awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care. Displays excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates self-direction learning through completion of orientation requirements, nursing certification and updates, and continuing education programs. Possesses clinical assessment skills relative to the medical oncology patient/family. Strong ability to use data and computer systems and electronic health records in support of patient care delivery. Strong supervisory skills. Strong judgment and critical analytic skills. Experience:
Associates or Bachelor s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred) Degree from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred Minimum of one year nursing experience, preferably in an oncology environment Continuing education requirements must be maintained Current or pending oncology certification preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Registered Nurse state license Basic life support (BLS) certificate OCN or Radiation certification preferred ONS (or equivalent) Chemotherapy and Biotherapy course or ONS Radiation certification required with 6 months of hire.
