Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide expert patient care to acutelly ill geriatric patients in clinical but homelike medical settings, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal health outcomes. Your expertise will support a variety of specialties including critical care, outpatient services, long-term care, and emergency medicine. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories. Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and medication management tailored to individual patient needs. Operate and document using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks to ensure precise medical documentation. Assist with complex procedures such as suturing, catheterization (including cardiac and urinary), tube feeding, and sterile processing techniques. Monitor patients' conditions closely in various settings such as ICU, PICU, emergency room, or long-term care facilities; manage acute pain and provide trauma medicine when necessary. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and coordination of care for patients with chronic conditions or developmental disabilities. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols while maintaining the highest standards of aseptic technique. Qualifications Valid L.P.N. or R.N. license in good standing with current state registration. Proven experience in diverse healthcare environments including hospital medicine, critical care (ICU/Level I & II trauma centers), emergency medicine, or post-acute care settings such as hospice or geriatrics. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and laboratory procedures. Experience working with specialized populations such as pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), geriatrics (memory care), behavioral health or individuals with disabilities. Competency in performing physical examinations, venipuncture (phlebotomy), IV insertion/infusion techniques, specimen collection/processing, and airway management. Ability to handle high-pressure situations efficiently in urgent care or emergency room environments while demonstrating excellent patient assessment skills.
