The RN will provide skilled nursing care to medically complex children in a safe, nurturing, and child-centered environment. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients according to each child's plan of care and physician orders. Perform nursing assessments and monitor vital signs and changes in condition. Administer medications and treatments as ordered. Provide G-tube/feeding tube care and enteral feedings. Provide tracheostomy care, suctioning, oxygen therapy, and respiratory monitoring when applicable. Monitor children with complex medical conditions, seizure disorders, respiratory conditions, and developmental disabilities. Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation. Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and changes in patient condition. Follow infection-control, medication-safety, HIPAA, and PPEC policies and procedures. Pediatric nursing experience preferred. PPEC, pediatric home health, PICU, NICU, or experience with medically complex children preferred. Experience with G-tubes, tracheostomies, suctioning, oxygen, seizure precautions, and enteral feeding preferred. Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred. Reliable, professional, compassionate, and comfortable working with children with special healthcare needs.
