Job Description

Oviedo Medical Center seeks a PRN Registered Nurse for our free-standing emergency department in Maitland. The RN delivers patient-centered emergency care, including triage, assessment, medication administration, and coordination of treatment. You will collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, use advanced technology and EMR systems, and respond quickly to changing patient conditions. Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care in a free-standing emergency department, including assessment, triage, and continuous monitoring of patients. Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies safely following physician orders and hospital protocols. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans. Perform and interpret basic diagnostic tests, recognize changes in patient condition, and respond rapidly to emergencies. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions to support safe transitions of care. Document all patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Maintain compliance with infection control, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Support new team members and contribute to a positive, compassionate, and inclusive care environment.
