Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) specializing in Pediatric and Gynecology care. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive primary care services, including health assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and health education for diverse patient populations ranging from children to adult women. Your expertise will empower patients to achieve optimal health outcomes through compassionate, evidence-based care delivered in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities Conduct thorough physical examinations and health assessments for pediatric and female patients, including vital signs, medical history review, and symptom evaluation. Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions across pediatric and gynecological populations, utilizing advanced clinical judgment. Prescribe medications, including contraceptives, antibiotics, and pain management therapies, adhering to DEA regulations and state laws. Perform procedures such as suturing, IUD insertions, Pap smears, and other gynecological interventions with precision and sterile technique. Collaborate closely with physicians, specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters and medical records management. Provide patient education on wellness strategies, family planning, nutrition, immunizations, and disease prevention tailored to individual needs. Skills Proven experience working with children (pediatrics), adolescent health, and women's health (gynecology). Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth for efficient documentation and patient management. Strong clinical skills in performing physical exams, diagnostic evaluation, specimen collection/processing, and minor procedures like suturing. Knowledge of pharmacology including medication administration, prescription writing within scope of practice, and drug interaction management. Familiarity with healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance and DEA regulations for controlled substances. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on health topics. Experience in acute care settings such as urgent care or hospital medicine is highly desirable to manage complex cases confidently.
