Job Description
The Home Health RN provides high-level skilled nursing care, with a primary focus on advanced wound management and infusion therapy. This role requires a clinician capable of following strict aseptic protocols to treat lower-extremity wounds and managing intravenous therapies to promote patient healing and prevent infection.
Core Responsibilities Advanced Wound Management:
Execute precise dressing changes for lower-extremity wounds, including cleansing with normal saline and application of antimicrobial iodine foam.Skin Integrity & Protection:
Monitor and treat peri-wound areas using liquid skin barriers and specialized secondary border foam dressings to prevent maceration.Infusion Therapy Oversight:
Manage and monitor prescribed infusion therapies, ensuring proper line maintenance, site assessment, and medication administration.Clinical Assessment:
Perform head-to-toe assessments, specifically monitoring for signs of localized or systemic infection (erythema, edema, or purulent drainage).Documentation:
Maintain detailed clinical notes regarding wound measurements, bed characteristics, and patient response to infusion treatment.Mandatory Qualifications Licensure:
Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license .Clinical Proficiency:
Demonstrated experience in wound care and infusion therapy .Certifications:
Active BLS/CPR certification .Health Screening:
Proof of a negative TB (Tuberculosis) test within the last year.Transportation:
Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and active auto insurance for home visits.Key Skills Aseptic Technique:
Mastery of sterile and clean techniques to prevent cross-contamination during dressing changes.Critical Thinking:
Ability to recognize subtle changes in wound pathology or infusion site complications and report to the physician immediately.Patient Education:
Ability to teach patients and caregivers how to protect the dressing and recognize "red flag" symptoms between visits.Reliability:
Adherence to schedule.Pay:
