Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-ER Job Type Contract This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled Emergency Room RN to join a highly respected Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital for a contract assignment. Step into a dynamic emergency department with 61+ beds and surge capacity, specializing in acute care for diverse populations including trauma, cardiac, stroke, and critical medical emergencies.
Schedule:
Day Shift (3x12 hour shifts)
Key Qualifications:
Current RN license with a minimum of 2 years' experience in an ED setting (Level 1 Trauma experience required; Level 2 candidates need manager approval)
Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
; must pass EKG competency exam National certification in Emergency Nursing preferred, not required Demonstrated competency with drips (Heparin, Insulin, Cardene, Dopamine, Epinephrine, Fentanyl, Propofol, Levophed) At least 6 months' experience with Epic EMR Open to first-time travelers who meet experience requirements
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver evidence-based emergency care for a high-acuity patient mix (chest pain, stroke, trauma, diabetes, abdominal pain, hypertension, mental health, and more) Collaborate closely within a dedicated, team-oriented culture supported by CNAs, unit secretaries, 24/7 respiratory therapy, hospitalists, intensivists, and telemonitoring staff Maintain patient ratios in line with departmental standards (typically 1:4) Utilize state-of-the-art equipment including cardiac telemetry, Alaris pumps, Pyxis, and rapid infusers Float within the ER department, with the possibility of floating to a nearby affiliated
