Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) House Supervisor to oversee nursing operations across multiple shifts, including days, nights, and varied hours, in a dynamic healthcare facility. This leadership role involves supervising clinical staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and maintaining high standards of patient care within a 36-hour workweek. The ideal candidate will possess extensive nursing expertise, supervisory experience, and a comprehensive understanding of diverse medical settings. License:
Must have compact RN license and OR, License as they are providing remote care for facilities in Oregon. Willing to apply for D.C. license upon offer•Responsibilities Provide leadership and supervision to nursing staff across all shifts, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and procedures. Coordinate patient care activities, including assessments, care planning, and discharge planning, to optimize patient outcomes. Oversee clinical operations in various departments such as medical-surgical units, ICU, emergency medicine, or behavioral health. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA, state healthcare laws, and long-term care regulations. Manage staffing schedules, monitor staff performance, and facilitate ongoing training and development initiatives. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate effective communication and seamless patient transitions. Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Conduct patient assessments, review vital signs, and ensure proper medication administration and IV infusion protocols. Lead quality improvement efforts by monitoring clinical metrics and implementing best practices. Support utilization review processes and participate in case management activities for complex cases. Skills Extensive experience with Epic EMR systems or similar EHR platforms; proficiency in medical documentation is essential. Proven supervisory experience managing nursing teams within acute care or hospital environments. Strong knowledge of critical care practices including ICU procedures, ventilator management, airway management, and catheterization. Familiarity with
ICD-9/10
coding systems for accurate medical record keeping and billing processes. Demonstrated expertise in managing diverse patient populations such as geriatrics, pediatrics—including neonatal ventilator care—and individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia. Knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance and state-specific long-term care standards. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments utilizing physiology knowledge and diagnostic evaluation skills. Skilled in medication administration, IV insertion, sterile techniques, phlebotomy, and specimen collection. Excellent communication skills for effective team management and interdisciplinary collaboration. Experience with utilization management, discharge planning, case management, and health coaching strategies. Competence in managing nursing staff performance metrics while fostering a positive work environment.
