In this vital role, you will provide high-quality emergency and urgent care services to diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with complex medical needs. Your expertise will ensure timely assessments, effective treatments, and compassionate patient care in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your broad skill set in acute care, trauma medicine, and specialty procedures while making a meaningful difference in patients' lives. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional healthcare experiences. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions, botulinum toxin treatments, and other specialized therapies. Manage airway emergencies using aseptic techniques and basic life support protocols; operate ventilators when necessary. Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, processing, and interpretation of results; utilize medical imaging tools like CT scans or sonography when indicated. Provide urgent interventions for acute pain management, trauma cases (Level I & II trauma experience), and infectious disease care; perform suturing and wound care following sterile processing standards. Triage incoming patients efficiently to prioritize care based on severity; coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for case management and discharge planning. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure accurate medical documentation of all patient interactions. Assist with specialized procedures including catheterization (cardiac or urinary), ostomy care, or gastrostomy tube feeding as needed. Support patients with complex needs such as those in memory care or working with individuals with developmental disabilities; deliver culturally sensitive health coaching and education. Experience Proven experience in emergency room (ER) or urgent care settings within hospital or outpatient clinics. Critical care experience including ICU or PICU environments preferred; familiarity with trauma medicine and Level I & II trauma center protocols highly desirable. Strong background in internal medicine, medical-surgical nursing, geriatrics, pediatrics, or behavioral health. Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation. Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, laboratory procedures, and infection control practices essential for compliance and quality assurance. Skilled in performing advanced procedures such as IV insertion, phlebotomy, tube feeding management, and aseptic technique application. Experience working with diverse populations including long-term care residents in assisted living facilities or nursing homes; familiarity with Workers' Compensation law is a plus. Ability to handle high-pressure situations involving acute pain management, trauma response, or infectious outbreaks while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
