Full Job Description Role Overview:

The Student Nurse Extern (SNE) provides basic patient care under the supervision of registered nurses, supporting the development of clinical skills and nursing knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver age-appropriate, culturally competent care such as hygiene, vital signs, mobility assistance, and medication transport. Perform approved technical procedures like phlebotomy and Foley catheter removal as trained. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure a positive patient experience and safety. Assist with daily activities, maintain a clean environment, follow infection control protocols, and support team initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Must have completed at least one clinical rotation in an acute care setting and possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with enrollment in a nursing program. Must hold Basic Life Support certification. Required skills include strong communication, multitasking, attention to detail, computer proficiency, and the ability to work under stress.
