Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-MS Job Type Contract Provide expert nursing care in a medical-surgical telemetry unit supporting patients with complex renal and post-op urology needs. This contract opportunity is based in Gray, GA, at a large teaching hospital with Level 1 trauma designation, chest pain, and stroke centers.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver skilled nursing care to patients with acute/chronic kidney disease, ESRD, peritoneal dialysis, and renal-related surgical cases. Manage tracheostomies, chest tubes, IV insertions, central lines, insulin and heparin drips, and cardiac telemetry monitoring. Monitor and treat co-morbid conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, infections, CHF, fluid overload, and anemia. Perform wound care, post-operative assessments, and coordinate discharge planning with emphasis on renal and fluid management. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes. Utilize EPIC EMR and operate unit-specific equipment including dialysis machines, telemetry monitors, and glucomanders. Desired Experience:
Active RN license with 2+ years medical-surgical nursing experience. BLS and Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR) certifications required; ACLS and Medical-Surgical or Nephrology Nursing certification preferred. Proficient in clinical assessment, telemetry interpretation, PIV starts, cardiac monitoring, and dialysis care. Comfortable with 1:4-6 nurse-to-patient ratios in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to float across adult med-surg and telemetry units as needed. First-time travelers are welcome.
Schedule & Work Environment:
12-hour shifts: 7A-7P or 7P-7A with approximately 5-6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks. No on-call responsibilities; holiday coverage includes one major holiday shift per cycle. Free parking available on campus. Unit culture emphasizes teamwork in a busy setting.
