Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-Stepdown Job Type Contract Provide expert nursing care in a fast-paced Stepdown and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting, delivering critical support to patients requiring close monitoring and specialized treatment. This contract role is designed for experienced RNs ready to contribute their skills during the 12-hour night shift, ensuring patient safety and recovery through vigilant care and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions within Stepdown and PCU settings Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as per patient care plans Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes Respond effectively to patient needs and medical emergencies Participate in weekend and holiday rotations, maintaining consistent and reliable coverage Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including infection control standards Qualifications /
Desired Experience:
Current RN license in good standing Experience in Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit nursing Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills Comfortable working 12-hour overnight shifts (7 PM to 7 AM) Ability to work 6 shifts in a 6-week rotation for weekends and floating duties Willingness to work 75% of holidays as scheduled Successful completion of SimpliFi clinical interviewing with the hiring manager
Shift Details:
Night Shift:
12 hours (7 PM to 7 AM)
Weekend Rotation:
6 shifts every 6 weeks
Floating Assignments:
6 shifts every 6 weeks No on-call or callback requirements
