Job Description
Wellstar Health System is seeking a Cath Lab Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced cardiac catheterization lab. The nurse assists cardiologists with diagnostic and interventional procedures, administers medications, monitors hemodynamic status, and responds to emergencies. Responsibilities include pre- and post-procedure assessment, patient and family education, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and maintaining sterile technique and accurate documentation. Responsibilities Assist cardiologists with diagnostic and interventional cath lab procedures Provide pre- and post-procedure patient assessment and monitoring Administer medications and contrast agents per protocols Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic status Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection control standards Respond to cardiac and procedural emergencies following ACLS protocols Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and follow-up care Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMRCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care Operate and troubleshoot cath lab equipment and monitoring systems Required Skills Cardiac catheterization procedures Hemodynamic monitoring ECG interpretation IV medication administration Moderate sedation management ACLS and emergency response Infection control and sterile technique Electronic medical record documentation Radiation safety principles Patient and family education
