Job Description
Wellstar Health System is seeking a Cath Lab Registered Nurse to deliver specialized, patient-centered care for cardiac and vascular procedures. The RN will coordinate and provide nursing care before, during, and after diagnostic and interventional cases, including patient assessment, monitoring, moderate sedation, and post-procedure recovery. Responsibilities include collaborating with cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams, circulating and scrubbing as needed, maintaining sterile technique, managing medications and infusions, documenting in the EMR, educating patients and families, and supporting quality, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced cath lab environment. Responsibilities Provide pre-, intra-, and post-procedure nursing care for cath lab patients Perform comprehensive patient assessments and continuous hemodynamic monitoring Administer medications, contrast agents, and moderate sedation per protocol Circulate and assist during diagnostic and interventional cardiac/vascular procedures Maintain sterile technique and ensure proper use of cath lab equipment and supplies Document all care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the EMREducate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and follow-up care Collaborate with cardiologists, technologists, and multidisciplinary teams Respond to emergencies, including ACLS interventions, in the procedural area Support quality, safety, and performance-improvement initiatives in the cath lab Required Skills Cardiac catheterization procedures Hemodynamic monitoring Moderate sedation administration ACLS and emergency response Sterile technique and infection control Electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation Intravenous therapy and medication administration Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation Patient and family education Interdisciplinary team collaboration
