Job Description

Wellstar Health System is seeking an Emergency Department Nurse to provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients with urgent and emergent needs. In this fast-paced ED setting, you will perform triage, administer medications, carry out physician orders, and coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams. You will monitor and stabilize patients, educate patients and families, and ensure documentation and safety protocols meet regulatory standards. Responsibilities Provide triage and rapid assessment of emergency department patients Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per provider orders Monitor, document, and report changes in patient status Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams on care plans Operate and monitor ED equipment and technology safely Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives Support patient advocacy, privacy, and culturally competent care Mentor and support new staff and students as needed Required Skills Emergency nursing care Triage and rapid assessment IV insertion and medication administration Cardiac and vital sign monitoring Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation
