Wellstar Health System seeks new graduate RNs for our Nurse Residency Program in Augusta, GA. This structured, full-time program supports your transition from student to professional nurse through classroom education, simulations, and precepted clinical shifts. Residents deliver compassionate, evidence-based care while building skills in assessment, documentation, teamwork, and patient education. Responsibilities Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care under the guidance of preceptors and clinical mentors Complete structured residency curriculum, classroom learning, and clinical rotations Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient-centered care plans Monitor patient status, document care, and communicate changes to providers Administer medications and treatments per protocol and regulatory standards Participate in simulations, skills labs, and competency assessments Engage in quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and health promotion Demonstrate adherence to infection prevention, safety, and ethical standards Contribute to a supportive, compassionate, and culturally sensitive care environment Required Skills Acute care nursing fundamentals Patient assessment Medication administration Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation IV therapy and phlebotomy basics Clinical reasoning and critical thinking Infection prevention and control Patient and family education Interdisciplinary team collaboration Time management and prioritization
