Completes psychosocial assessments on ED psychiatric patients and medically unstable psychiatric inpatients. Makes appropriate outcome recommendations, based on results of the assessment and individual patient needs, regarding the need for referral to psychiatric inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment or other services. Plans, implements and completes referrals to psychiatric inpatient treatment. Provides appropriate follow-up resource information to patients and families/significant others. Documents findings, recommendations, progress and outcomes. Participates in a rotating call schedule. The patient population served is primarily child to geriatrics.
