Job Description
This role operates within a 24/7 residential treatment environment and is not limited to a traditional Monday-Friday schedule. Flexibility is required to support the needs of the program, including evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities as needed. Position Overview This is not a traditional nursing role. At Pearl Haven, you will care for youth whose needs extend far beyond physical health. These are young individuals navigating the impacts of complex trauma, exploitation, and instability and healing requires more than clinical care alone. As a Registered Nurse at Pearl Haven, you will be a critical part of a multidisciplinary team providing trauma-informed, whole-person care. You will help restore safety in the body, rebuild trust in systems of care, and support each youth's journey toward stability, resilience, and long-term healing. This role is both clinically rigorous and deeply relational ideal for a nurse who is grounded in strong medical practice and called to meaningful, mission-driven work.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Care & Medical Oversight- Provide comprehensive nursing care to all students within scope of licensure
- Administer medications, immunizations, and routine health screenings (TB, Hepatitis B, influenza, etc.)
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical records
- Monitor and respond to acute and chronic health conditions
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and emergency response procedures
- Safeguard the overall health, safety, and well-being of all students Psychiatric & Behavioral Health Coordination
- Coordinate psychiatric evaluations and ongoing care for students
- Execute and monitor psychiatric orders, including medication management
- Collaborate closely with the Clinical team to support individualized treatment plans
- Provide clinical insight into behavioral health needs as part of a multidisciplinary team Health Education & Whole-Person Healing
- Provide education to students and staff on: o First Aid & CPR o Bloodborne pathogens o Infectious disease prevention o Injury prevention and overall wellness
- Design and facilitate nutritional and health education classes that support whole-person healing helping students rebuild a safe and healthy relationship with their bodies, understand nutrition as a foundation for regulation and resilience, and develop lifelong wellness practices
- Integrate education in a way that is trauma-informed, empowering, and accessible to youth with complex experiences
- Support staff training and ongoing health-related education initiatives Program Collaboration & Community Coordination
- Partner with external medical providers, specialists, and community agencies
- Participate actively in Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings and care planning
- Contribute to the development of integrated care strategies that support both clinical and therapeutic outcomes
- Help shape programming that aligns with Pearl Haven's holistic treatment model Operations, Compliance & Quality
- Order and manage medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment
- Monitor and track medical-related expenditures
- Ensure full compliance with licensing, regulatory, and organizational standards
- Maintain the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct
- Support quality improvement efforts and corrective action planning when needed Leadership & Culture
- Supervise Licensed Practical Nurse(s) and designated staff (if applicable)
- Support hiring, training, and performance management
- Serve as a steady, trusted presence for both students and staff
- Model professionalism, accountability, and respect at all times

- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Hawai'i
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to operate in dynamic, high-acuity environments
- Experience in behavioral health, adolescent care, pediatrics, or trauma-informed settings preferred
- Ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate with clarity and compassion
- Emotional intelligence and the ability to engage youth with complex trauma histories

Pay:
