The Registered Professional Nurse II is under the immediate supervision of a higher level registered professional nurse, receives orientation and guidance on nursing policies and procedures and nursing care techniques; develops and/or implements nursing care plans for assigned patients or clients; provides nursing care, treatment services and/or health education information. Qualified candidates will demonstrate outstanding communication skills, while adhering to our Mission, Vision, and Values.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide comprehensive nursing care across Long-Term Care, SNF/ICF, Acute, and ER settings, including assessments, medication administration, treatments, coordination of care, and discharge teaching.
Maintain nursing standards, follow organizational policies/procedures, ensure safety and infection-control compliance, and accurately document all observations, assessments, and interventions.
Coordinate and communicate effectively with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, residents/patients, and families; provide clear shift reports and utilize teaching opportunities to support patient understanding and continuity of care.
Participate in ongoing professional development, staff education, quality improvement activities, and uphold confidentiality, cultural competence, customer service standards, and regulatory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS
To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements. Please note that unless specifically indicated, the required education and experience may not be gained concurrently. In addition, qualifying work experience is credited based on a 40-hour workweek.
EDUCATION
Graduated from an accredited school of nursing. While not required, graduation from an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor's Degree is highly desirable. Evidence of the appropriate training (e.g. official transcript or diploma) should be submitted with the application to be given credit for education. A legible photocopy will be accepted. However, HHSC reserves the right to request an official copy.
EXPERIENCE
None required.
CERTIFICATION
Basic Life Support (BLS) in Health Care Provider (adult, child and infant) is required within one (1) month of appointment and non-violent crisis intervention certification within one (1) month of appointment.
LICENSURE
A valid State of Hawaii as a Registered Nurse is required. Evidence of licensure is required with the application.
