Position Urgency:
Quick Start ICU/CCU Department The ICU/CCU provides specialized care for patients with serious respiratory and/or cardiac conditions, as well as surgical patients requiring intensive care. 4-bed / 4-room ICU/CCU Typical patient ratio: 1:2 , depending on acuity If caring for 2 patients and one is on a ventilator, a second nurse will be called in Provides care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations After-hours PACU recovery responsibilities Emergency Room experience is recommended May float to OB, Medical-Surgical (MS), PACU, and ER based on competency level Responsibilities Provide safe, comprehensive, and individualized nursing care to critically ill patients. Assess, monitor, and evaluate patients across pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. Monitor patients with serious respiratory, cardiac, and surgical conditions requiring ICU/CCU-level care. Manage and closely monitor patients requiring ventilator support. Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygenation, and other critical patient parameters. Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to physician orders and facility protocols. Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition. Assist with emergency interventions, resuscitation, and other critical-care procedures. Provide after-hours PACU recovery care as assigned. Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized plans of care. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Cerner . Provide patient and family education and emotional support. Float to OB, MS, PACU, and ER as needed and within individual competency level. Participate in required orientation, in-service training, and unit competency validation. Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety protocols. Orientation & Training The assignment includes: Hospital orientation through HR and in-service training Unit orientation with the Nurse Manager Approximately 1-2 day shifts with the Nurse Manager Approximately 1-2 night shifts with a staff RN Completion of the required orientation/competency binder
Requirements Required Certifications:
BLS/BCLS ACLS
Licensure:
Current and active Hawaii RN license
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience ICU/CCU experience required Emergency Room experience recommended Important Schedule Requirement This position requires 80 hours every 2 weeks.
