  • Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Opportunity:
ICU RN Job Details:
  • Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Every third weekend requirement
  • Holiday requirement for 4th of July
  • 2:1 nurse to patient ratio in 16-bed ICU unit
  • Float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) when not needed in ICU
  • Required certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
(PALS & TNCC preferred)
  • Must pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score to continue
  • 2 years of ICU experience preferred
  • Travel experience preferred
  • Must have experience with drips, ventilators, and BiPAPs
  • Required to titrate drips including vasopressors and sedation medications (levophed, norepinephrine, cardene, precedex, propofol)
  • Must be able to read and verify telemetry strips
  • Care for medical ICU patients including sepsis, respiratory failure, stroke, and MI cases
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Artificial nails prohibited
  • Epic charting system
  • 1 shift orientation for ICU and 1 shift for PCU
  • No call or standby requirements
  • Driver's license required and must live outside 50-mile radius
Facility:
This acute care facility features a 16-bed medical intensive care unit providing comprehensive critical care services. The facility maintains 24/7 hospitalist coverage with intensivists available during day hours and via telemedicine during nights. The ICU treats complex medical conditions including sepsis, respiratory failure, stroke, and myocardial infarction cases. The facility operates as a Level 3 trauma center and utilizes Epic charting systems throughout the organization.
