A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Inpatient Units Available:
PICU- Full-Tme Nights, every third weekend and holiday rotation Pediatric Float Pool
- Full-Time Days, every fourth weekend and holiday rotation Blank 3 General Pediatrics
- Full-Time Nights, every third weekend and holiday rotation
Pediatric Clinics Available:
Blank Endocrinology- Full-Time or Part-Time Days Blank General Pediatrics
- Full-Time Days STAR Center
- Full-Time Days Inpatient Shift Differentials Shift differential of $5/hr for hours worked 3pm-11pm Shift differential of $7.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or IA Board of Nursing approved nursing program. License(s)/Certification(s): Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa Experience forAcute RNs:
Minimum of twelve months acute RN experience. All newly licensed RNs or RNs with less than 12 months of acute RN experience and who are interested in this department or any other Acute RN role within UnityPoint Health- Des Moines, are required to participate in the RN Residency program.
