Provide direct health services to individual students and staff. Qualifications, certification, and Experience Current license as a registered nurse (RN) from the Iowa Board of Nursing Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred Knowledge of professional standards, the Nurse Practice Act and other statutes and regulations Current CPR/AED certification Completed studies designed to develop knowledge and skills in the following areas: health concerns of school youth physical and emotional health of children and adults community agencies/resources legal rights and due process Ability to manage the components of the School Health Program Personal Performance Criteria Works well with others, maintaining positive and effective communication with school personnel and students Contributes to creating a positive work environment Demonstrates integrity and respects confidentiality Arrives on time and works consistently until the end of his/her scheduled day Takes advantage of professional growth opportunities related to his/her specific job Works independently and with confidence Demonstrates ability to adjust to new and changing situations Effective oral and written communication skills Professional Performance Criteria Manages School Health services Implements the Nursing Process and Standards of School Nursing Practice (NASN 2005) Maintains accurate health records on all students Promotes optimal environmental health
