School Nurse 2026-2027 School Year - Harmony Center

Van Buren County CSD is accepting applications for a School Nurse for the 2026-2027 school year. This position serves students at the Harmony Center and MS/HS. Key Responsibilities Provide medical care to designated students throughout the school day Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a licensed healthcare provider Monitor and document the students' health status and respond to medical needs as they arise Implement and follow the students' Individualized Healthcare Plan (IHP) and IEP. Respond to medical emergencies and follow established emergency protocols Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with FERPA and HIPAA guidelines Assist in training school staff on student-specific medical procedures as needed Ensure a safe and supportive environment that promotes student participation in school activities Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Iowa CPR and First Aid certification (required) Experience with Diabetic care and Seizure monitoring. Experience in pediatric, school, or community health nursing preferred Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and respond effectively in emergency situations Van Buren County CSD is an equal employment opportunity affirmative action employer.
