A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and minor procedures. Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant patient information. Partner with providers and clinic staff to support timely, coordinated patient care. Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members in a clear and compassionate manner. Assist with telephone triage, patient questions, and follow-up regarding health concerns and progress. Document patient care, interventions, and clinical information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR). Provide coverage and support across Family Medicine, Behavioral Health, Wound Care, General Surgery, and other specialty services. Qualifications Requirements:
Registered Nurse (RN) Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing Must have a current license or certificate in the state of Iowa High school diploma or equivalent is required Understand the concepts, principles and practices of a clinic setting Must be able to read, write, and speak English
