Overview UnityPoint Clinic Specialty Nurse - RN OB/GYN Clinic - Waterloo Monday-Friday 7AM-5PM Full-time + benefits $5,000 sign on bonus offered for external candidates! We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated OB/GYN team. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses who are passionate about women's health and providing patient-centered care across all stages of life. In this role, you will partner closely with OB/GYN providers to support patients through routine gynecologic care, pregnancy, postpartum needs, and various women's health concerns. Responsibilities Evaluate incoming patient calls and messages to assess symptoms, concerns, and determine appropriate next steps. Provide telephone triage for obstetric and gynecologic patients, offering guidance and directing patients to the appropriate level of care. Assist in evaluating urgent patient concerns including pregnancy-related symptoms, postpartum issues, pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, and other women's health conditions. Coordinate patient care across the continuum, including referrals, diagnostic testing, procedures, and follow-up appointments. Collaborate with OB/GYN providers, specialty services, and hospital teams to ensure timely and comprehensive patient care. Support patients throughout pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and ongoing gynecologic care. Educate patients and families on pregnancy, prenatal care, postpartum recovery, contraception, gynecologic conditions, preventive care, and treatment plans. Provide compassionate support and resources to help patients make informed healthcare decisions. Reinforce provider recommendations and promote healthy lifestyle practices that support women's wellness. Accurately document patient interactions, assessments, and care plans within the electronic health record (EHR). Monitor test results, coordinate follow-up care, and communicate recommendations to patients. Ensure continuity of care through proactive outreach and ongoing patient support. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) - Active/Unencumbered RN license in state of practice or compact license including state of practice. All levels of RN experience will be considered. Previous experience in OB/GYN, women's health, labor and delivery, maternal health, or specialty care is preferred but not required. Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Strong communication, assessment, and patient education skills. For positions within UnityPoint Clinic, team members may be required to work at or float to other locations to support optimized staffing.
