29015 Position Summary Applies advanced nursing knowledge, specialized expertise and experience to guide and support nurses and other clinicians caring for acutely ill patients at the bedside with a focus on assigned disease states. Responsibilities- Evaluates practice and helps to drive clinical changes for specific clinical scenarios, and ensures the use of best practices and evidence-based care to achieve the best possible patient outcomes
- Supports groups in designing and implementing innovative solutions that address system problems and patient care issues
- Assists teams in process improvement initiatives to improve clinical outcomes
- Educates and supports other clinical providers in the best practice management of assigned disease states
- A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
- Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program
- State of Idaho Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the "multistate privilege to practice" compact with Idaho
- Licensed RN with a minimum 3 years' patient-facing RN experience at time of hire, ADN or diploma required; BSN or higher preferred
- All non-BSN RN's with less than 3 years' patient-facing RN experience at time of hire are required to be enrolled in a baccalaureate (or higher) degree program in nursing within 1 year of employment, with completion within 3 years of hire
- Minimum 1 year experience in Critical Care required; 2 years' preferred
- CCRN required within 6 months of hire
- ACLS required
- BLS required
- NIHSS required within 6 months of hire Working Conditions
- Must be able to maintain a standing position
- Typical equipment used in a clinical job
- Must be able to stoop, crouch, or bend
- Must be able to lift or move up to 35 lbs
- Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment
- Must be able to assist in patient transfer
- Exposure to needles, blood and body fluids, etc.
- Must be able to reach arms above or below shoulder height
